The Guardian has posted a video from a non-profit in England called Project Pressure that documents the inside of a tunnel that melt water and warm air are expanding inside the Pallin Glacier in Sweden.
Project Pressure says it is documenting the world’s vanishing glaciers in order to highlight the impact of climate change.
The video includes commentary from Stockholm University Glaciologist Pers Holmund. His conclusion about the Pallin Glacier tunnel was remarkably similar to that of Portland State University Glaciologist Andrew Fountain, who was interviewed for the OPB/EarthFix/Oregon Field Guide production on the glacier cave on Mount Hood:
Holmund: “To me, this is a very strong signal saying that something is going on with our climate.”
Fountain: “It’s the thinner ice caused by climate change that allows these caves to grow really big.”
