contribute nowFORKS, Wash. — Agencies dealing with a dock that washed ashore near Forks are meeting Wednesday to plan their next move.
A spokeswoman for the state marine debris task force, Virginia Painter of the Parks Department, says they’re planning to return to the dock to deal with possibly invasive marine life and to start thinking about how the dock may be removed from the wilderness beach.
The dock that washed ashore last month is apparently debris from the March 2011 tsunami in Japan. There are some Japanese marking on the dock, but they are not conclusive, so more photos have been sent to Japanese officials.
